Bella and Dreah

We added a bulldog puppy to our family. Our presa Canario Bella loves her so much, Dreah is part Olde Enlish Bulldogge and Part Olde Boston Bulldogge. She is a very sweet girl. The kids are having a blast with her. She gets so cold when she goes outside, so I'll be posting some sweaters that I will be designing for her. These pictures are from late last night, they are both falling asleep.

Orange Cabled Slouchy hat

I usually design my own hats and clothing, but when I saw the pattern for this hat on Ravelry, I thought" ooh, I could turn that into a awesome slouch hat" So...here it is, if you knit and want a link to the pattern, just comment and I will attach it. This hat is made in 100% orange wool. So comfy and warm with just the right amount of slouch to it. If you are not a member on Ravelry, you should join, it's filled with amazing ideas, patterns, from the most talented designers:) I will not be listing this hat in my etsy shop because it is not my design, I did knit the hat, but the design is all by an amazingly talented knitter named Lucy Sweetland.

Sludge Misplaced Cables Hat

Mock cable kids hat

This hat is a mock cable knit hat, with a crocheted brim, made in Lion Brands fisherman's wool. It is very soft and because of the natural oils in the wool, the yarn is water proof, which is a plus for the coming winter months:) My daughter Gwendalyn is modeling the hat, which is available for purchase in my etsy shop:www.brandymccoysboutique.etsy.com

Exquisite Filigree Creamscile Orange doily

I made this filigree doily from an antique pattern that was handed down to me by my Nana. Made with crochet thread and a steel crochet hook. The doily measures 12" and has been pressed and lightly starched to keep it's beautiful shape. The color I used makes this antique style doily look very modern and sophisticated and fun at the same time.

Green chiffon and satin dress

I made this remake of dress for a customer last month and didn't have time to post it. So here it is, made of silk chiffon and satin. I had to draft the pattern and then sew it. It has rolled hems and an empire waist. It took about 2 days to draft the pattern and about 1 week to complete the dress.

My Daily Life

I am a stay at home mom of four amazing kids, so you can imagine how full my day is. Here is an example of my daily routine: Morning- get up, get kids up, make breakfast. Take boys to school, and drop off. Come home, clean house for about 3 hours while tending to the girls. Make lunch. Give girls a bath. Lay Gwen down for a nap. Try to get as much sewing done as possible while Gwen is napping while Fallon sits and sings along to the music playing on my radio in my sewing room. Finish up what I'm doing, Gwen wakes up from nap, get girls ready to go get boys from school. Come home, help boys with homework. Get dinner going. Husband gets home, serve dinner. Family talks about they're day with each other, and sometimes a wrestling match between all the kids against dad and mom has to break it up, then boys get a bath. Then watch t.v. for a while together. Time for kids to bush teeth and get ready for bed. Even though I'm exhausted, I go down stairs once again to sew as much as possible, finish up. Come up stairs spend some alone time with husband, feed our huge presa canario, Bella. Make up her bed, brush teeth, go to sleep. Wake up the next day and do it all over again. This is my daily life, and it sounds crazy, but I love it and wouldn't want to change it for anything. I love my family!

The New Year 2010

The new year has started and I'm so excited about all the new things that I will be making. I'm working on a lot of different interesting things that will be in my future blog posts. For right now I have listed this corset and skirt set, for sale in my etsy shop. I am going to be trying to list as many as 2 new items a week in my etsy shop so my customers have a lot of different options. I've been doing a lot of custom orders that include a wedding dress, spring dress, dolls, and Chun Li oxtails. Pictures will be uploaded by next week, for a few of the projects. Looking forward to my upcoming sales. Happy New Year everyone!
